SkierROYAL MTN SKI DAY - January 29, 2005

A day of downhill skiing or snowboarding at the nearby Royal Mountain Ski Area, an excellent ski area for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. We'll meet for lunch at the restaurant and maybe later for some apres-ski. Preregistration required by for the discounted group lift tickets. Equipment rentals and lessons are also available at the mountain.

There's nothing like a winter day filled fun activities, starting at 2:00. Get some get exercise cross-country skiing or snowshoeing the North Shore Trail as you compete in a "Poker Run" for prizes! Do some sledding, tobogganing or snow-tubing on a hill that's part of the trail. Afterwards, enjoy fellowship with your friends and neighbors as you savor a CHILI SUPPER hosted by the Pratts at 442 North Shore Road. Make sure to call Liz and Dave to volunteer to bring additional snacks, desserts or your favorite Chili! We hope to be surrounded by lots of snow!!


SkierLAPLAND SKI DAY - February 26, 2005

If downhill skiing is not your thing, perhaps you'd like a day of energizing cross country skiing at the nearby Lapland Lake Ski Area. Skiers will meet for lunch at the restaurant at 2pm. Registration is required for the Peck's Lake discount rate.


CleanupSPRING CLEANUP - April 30 or May 14, 2005
Volunteers?
Provides an opportunity to collectively help out by cleaning up our roads and the shorelines of our community. Surprisingly, our efforts produce almost a truck full of debris, ranging from bottles and cans to screen doors and carpet remnants to the always popular roadkill. An excellent opportunity for spring fellowship over coffee and doughnuts and helping to keep our community clean.


ClassCANOE & KAYAK TRIP - June 25, 2005

Our canoe experts are organizing a special day canoe & kayak trip on the West Branch of the Sacandaga. Participants will meet at the end of North Shore Road, (Dead Man's Curve), at 9:00am. Bring your own boat, paddle and PFD's, your lunch and plenty of water. You'll also need plenty of BUG SPRAY! We'll be returning to Peck's Lake around 2:30pm. If you plan to go, please call one of the organizers.


FireworksINDEPENDENCE DAY FLARES - July 4, 2005
So traditional we can't remember when it began. At dusk, anyone so inspired lights a standard road flare on their dock and shares the evening, albeit remotely, with friends and neighbors from all around the lake. Replace the old flares rolling around in your trunk and save one for this night.


GolfersBERNIE SLEEPER MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT - July 30, 2005

This is one of our oldest events, memorializing Bernie Sleeper, and is held at Nick Stoner Golf Course (835-4220). Golfers are awarded prizes in different divisions for low gross scores, Calloway handicapped low net scores, longest drive, straightest drive, closest to the pin and foursome scramble. Russ sets up your tee time, but you reserve your own cart. Coffee and doughnuts are provided before you tee off and cold sodas are available as you make the turn.

The dinner is always held the evening of the golf tournament. This is a great chance to mingle with other members and enjoy a well prepared meal. This year's dinner will be held at Pine Brook Country Club in Gloversville. Before the dinner, the awards for the golf tournament will be presented. Information about the meal selection can be viewed at Dinner Registration.


BrunchBREAKFAST AT ROCK ISLAND - July 31, 2005

There's nothing that compares to a beautiful morning on Peck's Lake. Tie up your boat and join your friends for breakfast on the waters near our most renown geological feature. Bring a dish to share and have fun roaming from boat to boat sampling other delicious foods! You'd be surprised at the number and variety of dishes served up! An event all should experience. Don't forget to bring you bathing suit and take a early morning dip!


PicnicPLPA PICNIC & CONCERT - August 20, 2005

Nothing says summer better than a PICNIC. Starting at 12:00, held at Peck's Meadow with good food, games for the kids as well as the adults, and afternoon of music provided by Dan Lynaugh. Participants are encouraged to bring a dish to share. There will be free hot dogs and soda. An excellent opportunity to meet your neighbors. The hike around the lake that traditionally is held the same day of the picnic, will be on Sunday, the 22nd. Watch the bulletin boards for details. Last year's was a fantastic time - Let's make this year's even better!! (Picnic Raindate is August 22nd)


MeetingPLPA ANNUAL MEETING - September 3, 2005
Our annual business meeting is held at 9:00 am at Peck's Storage Barn. We review the "doings" of the association over the previous year. This is a prefect opportunity to express your opinions in a open forum, learn about the issues that the association is facing and what's in store for our future. The meeting is held rain or shine and don't forget to bring your own chair. Baked goods and coffee will be provided.


GolfersSCRAMBLE GOLF TOURNAMENT - Fall 2005

A newly added event to give our golfers a second chance to showcase their talent...or at least another time to use their clubs. Unlike our summer event, this tournament is a four-person scramble event with prizes awarded for team scores, longest drive, and closest to the pin. It is held at Fox Run Golf Club in Johnstown, (762-3717). Tee times will be announced, you reserve your own cart.

Volunteers
There will be our holiday party where you'll have the chance to celebrate with your Peck's Lake neighbors and friends. Volunteers are needed to hold the party at their home. Please RSVP to the volunteers and let them know what type of dish you'll be bringing.
