
CALL TO ORDER Vice President Larry Doubleday called the September meeting to order in Hal Neal's absence. Katie Bergmann, serving as Assistant secretary, read the meetings for the 1983 Annual Meeting, approved as read.
TREASURER'S REPORT John Synal reported as June 30, 1984 we had a cash balance of $6,199. Putting the dues notices with the newsletter did not work as well as planned. 95 members to date, with the hope of receiving more.
BLEECKER TAXES Larry Doubleday, reporting for Hal Neal, indicated that the 1984 tax assessments were relatively stable and will update the data base this fall. Hal Clark has been very active working with the Town of Bleecker and has been able to get a favorable change in the equalization rate.
BLEECKER GARBAGE PICK-UP The problem of irregular pick-ups or none a all, has been resolved presently. A permanent plan will be available this fall.
PHOTO CONTEST Bob Ireland reported that there was no contest this year due to lack of participants. Will promote the contest better next year.
BOATING SAFETY Bernie Sleeper and Bill Heagle reported that 13 youngsters started the course with 10 successfully completing the course, four of which were from Peck's Lake. It was noted that Jim Ireland scored 100% on the very difficult, 50 question test. Bernie also thanked the PLPA for the thoughtful gift present to himself and his wife, Jean, at the PLPA dinner.
LAKE QUALITY Larry Doubleday reported the following pH levels for the last four years: 1981 - 6.64; 1982 - 6.6; 1983 - 6.74; 1984 - 6.5, with 1984 being our lowest level yet. Peck's Lake is in no immediate danger.
LAKE SURVEY EnCon was here three days last week collecting data for their report. Results will not be available until 1985. Larry Doubleday reported that the EnCon had finally agreed to conduct a fisheries survey of Peck's Lake. In addition to updating the species inventory data, the state will provide age and growth information on our game fish, proportional stock densities, relative abundance of the species, temperature, oxygen and pH and alkalinity profiles. Included with report will be recommendations on species management and water level manipulations. The Board of Directors will review the report when available and present the results to the PLPA Members at the earliest opportunity.
REVIEW OF EVENTS It was reported that 111 people attended the Social Dinner held at the Holiday Inn
ROADS South shore Road is in good shape. North Shore Road is not but Heal Neal and the Bleecker Highway Superintendent are looking into correcting the problems. PLEASE DIVE SLOW!!! Frank Greene is researching signs for roads.
