CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by President John Mars at 9:40am. The Secretary's Report was read by Carol Nitsche and accepted as presented. The Treasurer's Report was given by Bob Fleming and accepted as presented.
The guest speaker was Dave Brooks, Deputy Sheriff and Fulton County 911 Project Director. He explained how the 911 system works and demonstrated on his computer screen how a location is pinpointed. Within the next year, 911 should be in full use in Fulton County. At present, they are are trying to find a location for the main base terminal. Dave stressed that the old lot numbers should be taken down and replaced with the 911 numbers. The new numbers will be used for mail delivery as well as emergency situations. Call local facilities for all emergencies until further notice.

Committee Reports

Mailboxes Tom Foster spoke in the absence of Dan Phelan. The mailboxes will be in place as soon as the road is paved. The boxes will be located at the left hand side just past the beginning of the South Shore Road. Lumber and boxes are being stored at Tom's house. Anyone not purchasing a box may keep their box where is stands now. Any new boxes must go on the new mailbox facility. Hopefully it will all be in place before the snow falls. North Shore boxes will be built next summer.

Water Quality Brian Hogan stated that we now belong to the Citizen's Lake Assessment Program at a cost of $750 this year. Three tests have been done so far, the results of which will be available in October. Testing is for clarity, true color, nitrates, phosphorous, algae and pH level. The report will compare Peck's Lake to other lakes in the state. We are now on a waiting list and hopefully waill be accepted on a 5-year, state-funded water testing program. Brian also recommended a voluntary testing of septic systems.

Fish Stocking Bill Nitsche read a report by Dick Gillespie which stated that $970 had been collected from the PLPA, lake residents and seasonal campers. 400 Smallmouth bass ranging from 5" to 8" were put in this spring by Avery Hatchery. On October 3, Hinkley Hatchery will put in another 1000 Smallmouth Bass. These will join the 1000 fish put in during the fall of 1991.

Boat Parade Ginnie Easterly reported a good turnout of 25 boats. Judges were Bob Best, Jim Ireland, Charlotte and Alice Peck. A good time was had by all, and the suggestion was made to continue this event next year.

Sign Project John Peck said a volunteer is needed to head this committee whose goal would be to procure uniform street signs. The Bleecker end of the North Shore Road has put up new brown and yellow street signs.

Dinner-Dance Nancy Brown said that the dinner-dance held at the White Holland House on July 25 was a great success, with 102 people attending. It was suggested if we want it at the same place next year, we should reserve a date now. This will be brought up at the next Board Meeting.

Thank-you's were extended to Esther Neal for providing coffee and donuts and for editing our newsletter; to the Peck Family for use of the barn and for their help throughout the year; Holly Business Services for all their work; Helen Foster for running the yard sale; Dan Phelan and Tom Foster for the mailboxes; Dick Gillespie for fish stocking; Stephanie Hogan for undertaking the responsibility of Historian; Ginnie Easterly for the Boat Parade; Nancy Brown and her committee for the Dinner/Dance; Joan Mars for the art display at the Annual Dinner; Doris Warrick and Carol Nitsche for delivery of directories; and Dan Phelan, Ginnie Easterly and Brian Hogan who are going off the Board. Thanks for a job well done!

New Business

A question was asked concerning cable. John said GTE is interested in possibly providing cable to the Caroga and Peck Lake areas, but it may be a long time in coming.
The North Shore Road is paved to Bergmann Hill. It was asked if the Town would grade the rest of the road as well as putting up guard rails on a particularly dangerous curve on the South Shore Road.
John mentioned that five newsletters are sent out during the year. Residents may advertise any "For Sale" items for a $2 fee. Send information to Nancy Allen. The next newsletter will be published in November.
