PURPOSE:
1. The Peck's Lake Protective Association (PLPA) Website exists to advance the mission and objectives of the PLPA. The website is primarily a resource for the members of the PLPA; and, secondarily the non-login page of the site may serve the interests of Peck Lake campers and visitors.
2. The PLPA Website will be utilized as a means of:
a. Communications
b. Information
c. Advertisement for services pertinent to PLPA members and/or lake homeowners.
WEB SITE POLICY:
1. The PLPA is concerned with protecting the privacy of residents and visitors to www.plpa.org . Therefore, we do not collect any information for our Website that can be tied to individual users. The PLPA's PUBLIC page does not and will not include any identifying information of PLPA residents, unless approved by the resident, e.g., photo acknowledgement.
2. The PLPA does not receive email addresses or any other information that can be tied to individual visitors to www.plpa.org from the ISP.
3. The PLPA may receive monthly reports from our Internet Service Provider (ISP) detailing the pages of our site that visitors view and when they view them, (day of the month, day of the week); however, all of this information is aggregated data.
4. The LOGIN on the Website is reserved for Peck Lake homeowner residents only, and is password controlled. The password may be changed every year, and members informed. Change of the password will be made by the Webmaster as deemed appropriate. Password changes will be announced in the Newsletter and emails, and can be received by emailing plpa@nycap.rr.com .
5. PLPA site information will be updated at least once a year, preferably after the PLPA annual meeting, and after minutes from the previous PLPA annual meeting minute has been approved and submitted. Announcements will be posted on the POSTINGS page.
6. All information will be submitted to the Webmaster. The Webmaster shall use discretion in posting any and all information. Any and all adverse or negative information/comments will not be posted on the PLPA site. If needed, with regard to questionable postings, the Webmaster may seek advice from the Officers on the PLPA Board starting with the President.
7. Information posted on the PLPA website is, and shall be, in accordance with the PLPA By-laws and established Peck Lake deed restrictions.
PLPA Postings:
1. PLPA organized events, and other information of an informative nature regarding the PLPA and its members, can be posted on the PLPA site in accordance with "Postings #4."
2. PLPA paid members may post items for SALE at no cost on the website's POSTINGS page. This may include, but not be limited to, homes, auto, or other personally owned items controlled by PLPA members.
a. This does NOT include business/commercial advertisement listings; these listings are included under "Paid Advertisements".3. Any advertising for business/commercial purposes shall be considered paid advertising, and be subject to the Advertising Cost Schedule as approved by the PLPA Board of Directors
b. This does NOT include renting homes on the lake.
c. Anything in violation of deed restrictions and governmental regulations will not be allowed.
d. The Webmaster must receive an update every 15 days by phone, email, etc, to confirm listings are still active, or items will be removed from the site by the Webmaster. Once removed, items can be posted again.
4. Advertisement information posted on the PLPA website does not represent, or imply, any endorsement by the PLPA Board or Peck Lake homeowners or affiliates.
5. The Webmaster shall use discretion in posting any and all information. Any and all adverse or negative information/comments will not be posted on the PLPA site. If needed, with regard to questionable postings, the Webmaster may seek advice from the Officers on the PLPA Board starting with the President.
Paid advertisements:
1. Business/Commercial advertisements will be accepted as paid advertisements only.
2. Advertisements for rental of privately owned property on Peck Lake will not be accepted.
3. No advertisements will be accepted that appear to violate any existing Peck Lake deed restrictions.
4. PLPA paid members have precedence for advertising space.
5. Advertisements in the PLPA Directory and on the Website are in accordance with the Advertising Cost Schedule as approved by the PLPA Board of Directors. Expiration of advertising listings is on a two year cycle in accordance with the publication cycle of the PLPA Directory.
6. All revenue from advertisements shall be placed in the PLPA general fund.
This policy has been approved by the PLPA Board of Directors and posted as such on the PLPA Website.
Content and copyright of all materials, including but not limited to information and/or pictures, shall remain the property and responsibility of the PLPA, contributing authors, and Webmaster.
Advertisements on the PLPA website do not imply endorsement of any kind for business or commercial listings.
The PLPA is not liable for misrepresentation of any established Lake or Deed Restrictions by others.
